Our home on Lasting Laughter Asylum Farm is nestled in beautiful Olalla Valley and shadowed by the Pacific Coast Range in SW
Oregon. We are a husband and wife team and sell our wares at art festivals throughout the West, including Eugene, Oregon's famous Saturday Market. Our artwork has been bringing new life to woods discarded by humans and nature for over twenty
years.
The woods used in our artwork were collected from our coastal waters, beautiful streams, friends' backyards, or sustainably
harvested. No living trees are ever cut for the intention of creating our fine boxes. Each piece is uniquely crafted as
a functional and artistic addition to any home or office.
Our rattles are made for the enjoyment of both children and adults.
Babies love to teeth on and grasp the natural textures of the woods, which are finished with Clapham's Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish,
an all-natural finish. They each have beautiful tones for musical accompaniment and are hand-sanded to a fine, smooth texture
that can relieve stress like a worry stone. People who have grown up with our rattles are now returning to chose rattles
for their own children.
Our boxes are crafted with the intention of maintaining the integrity of the wood's natural shape,
texture, color and grain, and are made from sustainably harvested woods or driftwoods. They have stored such items as jewelry,
baby's first teeth, pocket treasures, a loved one's ashes, or even one's thoughts. They are a wonderful gift for a loved
one, yourself, corporate gifts, and awards.
